There comes a time when you realize your not a kid anymore. That day was yesterday, my 25th birthday. Now, with that said, it doesn't mean that I can not have fun. Growing up doesn't mean you loose every aspect of what fun is or how to have it. Growing up means taking responsibility for the actions you take. Growing up means seeing the world from a different perspective. Growing up means grabbing a hold of what God has for you. There are many ways a person can grow up; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Growing up physically is the easy one, it comes naturally. Every day we grow up physically. As we age we grow up physically. Emotionally growing up means putting aside your own emotions for the sake of others. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3." Spiritually maturing is a process that takes devoted time with God. "This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 1 Corinthians 2:13"
In order for an individual to achieve a place of up most growth, he or she must commit to all levels of maturity. I repeat myself to reinforce that growing up does not mean not being able to have fun. It simply means that we are a person who is mature. We know what God has for our lives and what His plan for us is. He are a mature and grown up christian. We no longer have to be asked to pray, we just do it. We no longer feel like its a chore to read or Bibles and seek after God. Its something that just comes naturally. Isaiah 58:2 says "For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them." We must be eager to serve the Lord and know him to reach spiritual maturity.
